For this weeks posting I thought I’d present exciting and new job openings focused on social and sustainability issues:

The New Futures Lab is a design-led innovation team “reimagining the role of packaging as it relates to food mobility, access, and waste reduction.” They just posted an opening for a Knowledge Manager who will “leverage a variety of research methods to better understand users’ needs and potential areas of exploration in service of our customers and our communities.” The position will utilize a wide diversity of qualitative research methods and participatory design to discover “future-focused insights that can begin to frame questions and identify opportunities.” It’s a mid-to-senior level position but there are no hard and fast requirements apart from having some relevant experience and abilities – so take the plunge and apply on the company’s LinkedIn page

For the next job, are you thinking “you know, I’ve established myself as a thought leader in the technology sector but I would really like to work at an ‘independent, global think tank, working for a sustainable and peaceful world in which every person thrives.'” Well, you’ve just described a recent job opening for Head of Digital Societies Programme at the Overseas Development Institute (ODI) in London! The role will provide “thematic leadership” in the newly-launched Digital Societies Programme and “extend ODI’s presence in debates around the digital revolution.” In addition, the head of programme will also “scope and develop a distinct programme of work around digitalisation and develop cross-cutting tools, methods and frameworks.” Necessary requirements include a degree and “post-graduate qualification” in a relevant discipline, being a recognized thought leader in the topic, and extensive experience of programme management. You can apply directly through the ODI website here. There is a closing window of October 6th for the opening.
