AnthroJobs of the Week, 4 December 2019

Avatar Brandon Meyer December 4, 2019 No Comments

This week’s anthrojob selections highlight anthropologists’ aptitude for discovery. Take up the challenge to explore the future of food or share your anthropological insights into the consumer’s point of view with R&D labs of an internationally-recognized personal care company. Maybe hit the streets managing a large research study on gun culture among inner-city youth.

General Mill’s is looking for a Co-Founder Entrepreneur (Consumer Insights) in Minneapolis, MN who is “passionate about the future of food” to join their “internal start up accelerator that discovers and builds new business in high growth spaces.” The new 3-person co-founder team “will work in a way that is not ‘business as usual,’ challenging themselves and each other, using entrepreneurial skills and an experimental mindset to get to the commercial truth about disruptive market opportunities.” A BA/BS and experience in innovation, startup methodologies, marketing, and sales or business strategy is required. To apply, visit the position’s page at General Mill’s website.

L’oréal is looking for a Functional Lead of Research & Innovation within Consumer Product Evaluation in Clark, New Jersey. The AVP of Consumer Evaluation will “embody & drive the consumer point of view to enhance and assess perceived product performance… with PPE counterparts in all L’Oréal R&I Hubs around the world.” As such you’ll need to be a consumer science expert with a Masters or PhD, a strong working knowledge of statistics, and 10 plus years of experience working within a large company. To apply, visit the job opening’s page at careers.loreal.com.

The Center for Court Innovation is seeking a part-time Site Director in Baltimore, MD  to “manage a mixed-method, participatory action research study of gun culture among youth 16-24 as part of a five-city study funded by the National Consortium of Gun Violence Research.” The Center for Court Innovation is a non-profit organization that “works to create a more effective and humane justice system by performing original research and helping launch reforms by guiding justice innovators, nationally and internationally… The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. or M.A. with meaningful research experience, preferably in criminal justice, ethnography, or a related field. Experience supervising qualitative research studies and familiarity with participatory action research methods is preferred. Experience coding and analyzing qualitative data, including use of data analysis software and the ability to participate fully in fieldwork,” working nights, weekends and traveling to convenings in New York City. To apply, visit the job opening’s page on LinkedIn.
